Jaya orders pension to Lankan Tamil Refugees in Tamil Nadu
Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's orders, the 5,544 refugees will now receive Rs 1,000 as monthly pension.
The release said this was in furtherance to the government's objective, enunciated in the Governor's address to the Tamil Nadu Assembly, of extending welfare schemes being implemented in the State to all Sri Lankan Tamil Refugees housed in the camps.
